Welcome to the Digium D80 IP Phone Training series “How to Use Visual Voicemail” video. Your Digium IP Phone features a visual voicemail application that allows you to manage your voicemail with simple key presses right on the phone, without requiring you to listen to menus or remember DTMF key sequences. When you have a new voicemail message, the red Message Waiting Indicator light will blink and you will see a voicemail notification on the home screen. By default, all extensions have permission to use voicemail screening. However, the system administrator may turn this off in Extension Permissions under the "Use Voicemail Features section.
When a caller is leaving a message, the Message Waiting Indicator will blink amber and a Voicemail notification bar will appear above the callers Missed Call notification. Tap the blue voicemail screening action button in the Voicemail notification to screen your voicemail. A Screen Voicemail notification will appear. Tap the Screen button to listen to the voicemail. The Screen button will change to orange to indicate the Voicemail is being screened. You may also select the Answer button to answer the call immediately. When you have new messages waiting, the Message Waiting Indicator light will blink red and a notification will appear on the home screen. If you have multiple notifications, scroll through the list to select the notifications you wish to review. To listen to a voicemail, from its notification, simply tap the Voicemail button on the appropriate notification. A New Voicemail notification will appear.
Tap the Play button to listen to the voicemail. You have several options for your voicemail message. You may Move the message to another folder; Forward the message to another extension; toggle between Read or Unread, Call Back the caller who left the message, or Delete the message. To move the message to another folder tap the Move button. You now have the option to select a target folder. Select the Voicemail folder and your Voicemail will be added to that folder. To forward the message tap the Forward icon. This will give you the option of forwarding the voicemail to a contact in your Contacts list. Select the contact you wish to forward the voicemail to . Select Confirm to complete the action or Cancel to return to Contacts. Note: you may only forward voicemails to contacts within your PBX. There is no option to forward voicemails to to external contacts to another PBX. Tap the Read or Unread button to toggle between Read and Unread.
